Kathy's AVON Diet

My primary marketing is canvassing (hanging brochures on doors of people who are soon to be my customer ;-) I will be putting out 700 this campaign and 800 for the next. I have my kids to help me, but even with that it's a lot of walking. I'm glad though. Not only will this help me build my business, it will also help me build muscle and lose weight!!!

I will be walking off the pounds as I deliver 700 brochures, or more, every campaign. Now, that's what I call an AVON Diet!

I'm not daring enough to post my weight, but I will check in every campaign with my pounds lost. Stay posted to see less of me around here.

What I Love Most about AVON

I was looking through the latest brochure and realized that what I love most about AVON is how we are always looking ahead to the next holiday, season or event. Not only am I enjoying summer and Fourth of July now, but I am all a flutter for the upcoming Breast Cancer Crusade and Back to School Days that are approaching.

Every two weeks we get a fresh new "catalog". AVON is always on top of the latest trends, colors and products. Thanks, AVON!

First Four Campaigns

This is a look back on my first four Avon Campaigns.

I love that Avon gives 50% off the first 4 Campaigns. It's genius! As a newbie it's encouraging to make money off of those first small orders; it was a good incentive for me to put in my personal orders now, and made me order for all four-- creating great ordering habits.

I have also been enjoying the Beauty of Knowledge online training. At the end of each subject I printed my certificate. Note to self: encourage other new recruits to do the online training.

No business is built over night. I have very reasonable expectations for my Avon business and so far we are right on target. Yippee!!! As of Campaign four I have 9 customers, sold over $1,200 total and made our district's top ten sales list.

FYI: The term "Campaign" comes from the early days when Mrs. Albee was the first Avon Lady. Her husband was a politician and she would travel with him on his Campaigns-- and of course sell product ;-)

What are You Willing to Do to Grow Your Business?

I am constantly amazed at how many people expect to grow their direct selling business without any effort on their part! Does anyone really expect that leads grow on trees? How can anyone really expect to grow a successful business without spending any money? I am shocked when someone tells me she wants to be successful and then in the next breath tells me she "can't afford" to go to the company convention or to a meeting or training! Come on, let's get real! Do you really think you can survive without the positive training, camaraderie, motivation and recognition you will get at your monthly meetings, annual conventions and quarterly trainings?
For over 22 years you could count on less than two hands the number of meetings I never missed and annual convention or leadership training! Unless it was a real emergency, why would I? I knew the date at least a year in advance and I began immediately to set aside some money every month to cover my expenses. The same rules apply to your leadership trainings. How can you be a leader and not attend a scheduled leadership training? I would bite my tongue before I ever let one of my downline consultants know I couldn't afford to attend something. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS! Your consultants will follow your example. Are you setting a good one.
Maybe you are a consultant that wants to move up to a leadership level with your company but you don't make the commitment to support your leader by attending her monthly meeting. Don't be surprised when your team doesn't attend your meetings when you are a leader. You see it really is true, what goes around comes around. Everyone needs to be a good follower before they can become a good leader.
